Custom Shape Rugs
Every other rug in this shop is a rectangle or a circle with a picture printed on it. These are cut to the picture. The edge follows the outline of the design itself — the curve of a paw, the spread of a flower, the silhouette of an animal — so the shape reads from across the room before the pattern does.
Where a shaped rug works
A shaped rug wants space around it, because the outline is the point and a crowded floor hides it. Beside a bed, in front of a fireplace, in the middle of a child's room, or anywhere a rectangle would look like it was covering something. Against plain wood or a flat carpet the silhouette does all the decorating.
Sizes and how to choose
Five sizes from 30″ to 72″, measured across the widest point of the shape rather than corner to corner — a 48″ paw is 48 inches at its widest, not 48 inches square. Size up when in doubt: a shaped rug that is too small reads as an offcut.
The same construction as the rest
Flat printed face with no pile to shed and no loops to snag, a non-slip backing that grips wood, tile and laminate, and a machine-washable surface. Printed to order, so allow the production window on the shipping page.

Will the cut edge fray?
The edge is sealed at cutting, not hemmed, so there is no stitching to come undone and nothing to unravel.
Can I get a shape made to order?
These are cut from the designs shown. The shape belongs to the artwork, so choosing a design chooses the outline.
